Alvis H. Hagelis
Director of Land Planning

Al joined Urban in 2004 and works with developers and builders to prepare master plans, rezoning plans, site plans and conceptual layouts for various residential, commercial and office projects in Loudoun, Fairfax, Prince William and Spotsylvania Counties. In addition, an important part of his work has been the preparation of feasibility studies and conceptual site plans for elementary, middle and high school development for Loudoun County Public Schools.

Prior to joining Urban, Al worked for the Rouse Company, the developer of Columbia, Maryland, as Director of Planning and Design from 1998 to 2004, where he supervised land planning and architectural design of mixed-use projects in Maryland including Columbia, Emerson, Stone Lake and Fairwood.

From 1978 to 1998 he worked for the developers of Reston as a land planner, senior urban designer and manager of architecture and design. He also administered the Town Center Design Review Board and was responsible for review and approval of all development in Reston Town Center.
